Les dessins sont exceptionnels j'ai rarement lu des mangas aussi beaux， toute l'esthétique est incroyable et joue un rôle important dans l'histoire。 Le plot est assez basique， les personnages un peu cliché mais sans trop l'être et c'est exactement ce que je recherchais donc je valide c'était trop trop bien。 Les dessins sont exceptionnels j'ai rarement lu des mangas aussi beaux， toute l'esthétique est incroyable et joue un rôle important dans l'histoire。 Le plot est assez basique， les personnages un peu cliché mais sans trop l'être et c'est exactement ce que je recherchais donc je valide c'était trop trop bien。 。。。more

night and sea - 3。75 starsi wasn't sure what to expect going into this， i just picked it up because i wanted a manga centered around girls/women for once （hoped for something possibly sapphic too， but it didn't necessarily have to be romance）。 then as i was reading it （in one go） the art style truly captivated & fascinated me， it was actually the main thing that got me hooked， even though i found the characters interesting as well。 first for a short insight into the story:Tsukiko Yano is a high night and sea - 3。75 starsi wasn't sure what to expect going into this， i just picked it up because i wanted a manga centered around girls/women for once （hoped for something possibly sapphic too， but it didn't necessarily have to be romance）。 then as i was reading it （in one go） the art style truly captivated & fascinated me， it was actually the main thing that got me hooked， even though i found the characters interesting as well。 first for a short insight into the story:Tsukiko Yano is a high school student who has previously lived abroad （she and her mom move a lot）， and has now transferred to a new school。 as a result （and， as far as i can tell after having read vol。 1， this is also just kind of a part of her own character）， she is more of a solitary character， and found unapproachable by everyone。then there's Aya Utsumi， who loves swimming in the pool of the school they both go to， especially since she's always alone there， which she likes best in a way。 everyone finds her weird， which is why she's all the more surprised when Tsukiko asks her if she can watch her during her swimming sessions。 for some reason， she doesn't really know why herself， she likes doing that， and that's how their relationship sets off。both Tsukiko and Aya are lonely in a way， and "different" in their own ways， and i liked seeing them take some joy/comfort in being together - even though that looked different for the both of them。 i could relate to parts of both of them （their 'social struggles' if you can call it that for instance）， and liked seeing scenes like the one where Tsukiko speaks to Aya for the first time and offers her the umbrella from both povs - i hadn't expected that！ going forward， i look forward to one of them （both of them， eventually， i might hope） coming out of their 'shells'。 i saw the beginnings of that in the scene where Aya tells Tsukiko that she likes her， and Tsukiko first reaction is to push her away， because she is just clearly overwhelmed and not 'used' to that， and doesn't know how to 'handle' it （or maybe the prospect scares her， we'll hopefully see more on that in the following volumes）。 that was （i felt） one of the scenes where both of them where being the most honest， with the other， and with themselves as well。and then， what i loved - maybe the most - was the beautiful art style！ i loved it a lot， it's truly fascinating！ one rather random thing i somehow just really fell in love with was the way i could see all the 'imaginary fish' floating around a lot of the scenes （not sure how to put this haha） through Tsukiko's mind， and the way the drawn scenes would partly pass over into ocean-like parallels/scenes （this is hard to describe， but it was so fascinating， and on of my favourite parts of the art）。i give this 3。75 stars， since the two main characters， Tsukiko and Aya， their relationship and their story didn't captivate me as much， at least at the beginning， as i maybe hoped it would have （it didn't feel all that special at first）。 that got better towards the end， and i'm intrigued to see how that evolves in the next volumes， and how much （depth） i'll get to see about both of them & their dynamic！- to sum up， interesting characters （with an intriguing dynamic）， which i look forward to see develop in the next volumes， and absolutely stunning art！ 。。。more

3。5/5Les dessins sont tout en finesse et m’ont conquise。 En revanche， je m’attendais à plus accrocher et ce fut le cas mais seulement vers la fin。 J’ai vraiment hâte de voir l’un des personnages sortir de sa coquille。
